That Guiding Hand

That Guiding Hand

As Franc opened his eyes, he was immediately hit with a jarring sensation. The environment had changed, the lights were dimmer, and darkness surrounded everything. He tried to take in his surroundings, but his attention was quickly drawn to the creature a few steps away from him, poised to attack.

At first, Franc couldn’t identify the creature, but as it approached, he could see its appearance more clearly. Its body flowed like liquid as if it were made of mud that had come to life. Drops of some unknown substance dripped from its face, and its open mouth revealed sharp teeth.

Despite his attempts to run away, the creature seemed to follow him wherever he went, almost as if it were inescapable. The darkness pursued Franc relentlessly, and he knew that he was bound to it.

Eventually, Franc gave up running and turned to face his fate. Surprisingly, the creature also stopped, and they looked at each other for a moment. It was then that Franc understood that his body was bound to the darkness that emanated from the black mud creature, and he felt his body grow weaker.

As the creature approached, Franc felt an intense pain that forced him to fall to his knees. He pleaded with the creature, asking who it was, but he received no response. Instead, the creature’s message was communicated through its large, red eyes, and Franc realized that the pain would be inevitable.

The darkness closed in on Franc, and he felt as though he was losing control of his body. He tried to fight against it, but it was useless. His body was rapidly moving toward the unknown, and Franc felt like a passenger on a ship without a destination.

Despite his lack of proper training, Franc’s body moved with ease through the streets, as if it had always known where to go. It was like traveling with a stranger who leads you to the place you so badly desired. Though fear still held onto him, Franc eventually understood the futility of fighting and went along for the ride.

As his body arrived at its destination, a bar in the middle of nowhere, Franc felt a sense of familiarity. He walked past everyone without a second thought, and his attention was immediately drawn to Salome, a beautiful woman sitting at the opposite end of the bar.

Despite his fears, his body approached Salome calmly, trying not to be too obvious. She lifted her chin and smiled, tilting her face to the side, and Franc felt like he knew her. He tried to run and hide, but his body put a hand on the table, determined to break the ice.

Despite his expectations, Salome agreed to let him buy her a drink, and they ended up having an amazing time together. Franc couldn’t believe how much fun they had, and he realized that his body had known all along that she was the one.

As Franc left the bar that night, he felt a sense of clarity. It was time to start listening to his body and trusting its instincts. Despite the terrors of the unknown, he knew that he was ready to embrace the journey that lay ahead.

This is true on so many levels. Fear can grip you back from being able to explore possibilities this life can offer.

“despite the terrors…he knew he was ready” the courage to recognize when to fight and when to courageously move into the unknown…nice!

Our mind is like our shadow, sometimes scary, sometimes pleasant. It is said that the mind is our worst enemy or can be our best friend. It is just a matter of how to train it. Understanding and realizing we are not our body or mind but eternal, undying spirit soul, our fears of existential realities greatly diminished. The fact is, we are distinct from our body and mind including feelings and emotions. We just need to learn to walk toward the sun so our shadows fall back and do not obscure our paths.
